Although the Deccan traps started erupting prior
to the Chicxulub asteroid impact, it has been
proposed that the Chicxulub asteroid impact
resulted in cataclysmic eruptions of the already
active, but relatively sluggish, Deccan trap fissure
eruptions. Go seee;
